１９９０年の選挙結果が無効なわけ

　タンシュエ上級大将のビルマ軍事政権（ＳＰＤＣ）は、
　１９９０年の総選挙の結果（アウンサンスーチー氏が書記長の
　国民民主連盟<NLD>が議席の８５％を獲得）を無視して権力の
　座に居座り続けるのだが、その理由をどのように説明して
　いるのかがもうひとつ不明だった。

　が、今日の国営紙『ミャンマーの新しい灯』
　（"The NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR")にそれらしき説明があった。

　昨年(２００８年５月）の新憲法承認の為の国民投票で、
　９２.４８％の信任を得たからだそうだ。

　→国民の多くは、軍政の進める民主化への７段階の
　　ロードマップを支持している
　→だから１９９０年の選挙結果は無効である。

　ふむ。
　
　さらに分からなくなった。
　じゃあどうして１９９０年の選挙結果を無視して新憲法制定などの
　ロードマップを始めて、さらに強行することができたのだろうか？
　その根拠がどこにあるのか分からない。

　２００８年５月の新憲法の国民投票への信任投票をもって９０年の
　選挙結果を無効というのなら、そもそも話が逆転していないか？

　ま、ＳＰＤＣに道理は通じないのだが。
　嗚呼、空しい。

　と、今日の紙面で、軍とＮＬＤの「対話」はないとしている。
　歩み寄りを拒否しているのは、アウンサンスーチー氏ではなく、
　軍政側なのである。

　と、ビルマには政治囚（常識的な見地から、犯罪をおかしていない
　のだから「政治犯」ではない）はいないのだとさ。

　Nevertheless, NLD is turning a blind eye to thepeople's desire
　and trying to disrupt the proceedings.The United Nations
　secretary-general's visit to Myanmar was followed by a large
　range of criticismsfrom foreign media. In a BBC news programme
　on 14July 2009, the spokesperson of the party said that theywould
　hold on the policy that whether they wouldstand for 2010 election
　or not, taking into considera-tion the release of political prisoners
　including Daw Suu Kyi, a meeting to review the 2008 constitution,
　and the government's reaction to those two points;adding that
　it was impossible for them to stand forelection without any action
　on 1990 election results.

　That means the 1990 election results, to whichanti-government
　groups stick, have been null andvoid. The people do not turn to the
　results of morethan 19 years ago. Similarly, the anti-government
　groups'persistent demand for a dialogue has gonedown the drain.
　
　The people's memories are stillfresh that they gave various reasons
　to refuse toattend the National Convention even though theywere
　given opportunities to submit their opinionsand hold discussions
　at the convention.The demand the NLD spokesperson made for
　release of political prisoners including Daw SuuKyi is unreasonable
　at all. The government has said many times that there are no
　political prisoners in Myanmar.They are, indeed, the ones who are
　serving their terms in accordance with the law fortheir harming
　stability and peace of the State,and committing other crimes.
　Daw Suu Kyi, like them,is not a political prisoner, but the person
　who is on trial for breaching an  existing law.
