The Union Election Commission issued the Notification No.89/2010 on the13th of August.
The Union Election Commission exercising the Duties and Powers contained in the Article 8 of the Union Election Commission announces that it will hold the multiparty democracy general elections for the respective Hluttaws on the 1st waxing day of Tazaungmone 1372 ME which falls on Sunday of 7 November 2010 in accordance with the Article 34 C of the respective Hltuttaw Election Laws and Rules16 (a).

The Union Election Commission also issued the Notification No. 90/2010 on the 13th of August.
The Union Election Commission exercising the powers contained in Election Rules 16 of the respective Hluttaws announced the following dates:
(a) The first date for submission of the list of the name of candidates for the constituencies of the respective Hluttaws it on the 6th Waxing of Wagaung 1372 ME which falls on the 16th August 2010
(b) The final date for submission of the list of the names of candidates for the constituencies of the respective Hluttaws it on the 5th Waning of Wagaung 1372 ME which falls on the 30th August of this year
(c) The date to scrutinize the applications on the list of the names of Hluttaw candidates it from 12th Waning of Wagaung 1372 ME to 2nd Waxing of Tawthalln 1372 ME which from 6th September to 10th September of this year
(d) The final date to withdraw the applications on the list of the names of Hluttaw candidates if there is any wish to do so 9th Waning of Wagaung 1372 ME which falls on the 3rd September 2010
